Once in Year

In this a season

Of much unreason

At least according to times

I offer some cheer

To sidetrack the fear

Some words, rhythms and rhymes

After the hustle

Recovered from bustle

Each one of us will smile

For once a year does Christmas appear

Then it's gone for a while

So laugh till it hurts

Eat too much food

And enjoy the family crowd

For one day when old

Stories told

One more Christmas

You will hope you're allowed

Have fun, be safe. Enjoy the Christmas Spirit

We will return next week and hope to start a new season of delivering you the best custom wood blinds, shades and faux wood products available.

Winter Time Blinds

Friends,

Winter time got ya down? Grey skies, cold breeze and raining most the time? Brighten the house up! Adding a white bright window decor is just the boost for Winter time blues. Faux wood blinds in white can make any room Pop! White accents always bring a smile and good cheer. Whites not your style? Go with a Natural tone. Faux blinds are available in a Natural tone also. Search Royal Trends Faux. Look for the Natural and maybe even consider the Bamboo. Lighter tones with a satin finish that scream luxury and richness.

Winter does offer wonderful things like fall football. Go watch the the old the Highschool team. Even when you don't have kids there anymore it can be great fun and excitment. Get the messy chilli cheese dog and popcorn.

This one went well for my old Home Team The Aldine High School Mustangs. Regardless to say I bet the other team wished they had some blackout cellular shades at that point. Black out honeycomb shades will block light and also can reduce the engergy cost for a home. Letting in less cold and or heat. A true white outside blends with most exterior colors and the four choices of room side colors range from Navy dark to Sand.
Winter is here. Make the most of it. Replace the old faded blinds and shades. Sometimes just changing colors is all you need for that winter boost.
Have a great wintery week.
God Bless each of you.

Easy Home Upgrades

Hey Friends,

So many of our neighbors are in the mist of remodeling today. Could be a lure of future home sale inceases or maybe just the reality that contractors are charging less at the moment due to the slow economy. One I can say is that home renovation is and can be a real dirty time consuming project. You have to deal with the dust, dirt and strangers in your home. Never when you think, but when they decide to arrive. They make a mess they make noise and they ultimately make your home a nicer cleaner more pleasant place. The removal of age old materials can wreak havoc on the sinus and allergies of even the strongest individual.

These updates are great and can add value to your home in the right market. hey certainly add joy to the everyday living in and enjoyment of being at home. However, if you are looking for a less involved, less expensive upgrade for your property. You just might want to consider the replacement of your existing window blinds. Do you still have the old aluminum 2" from the 50"s or maybe the 1" aluminum from the 80's? Well what about a bright new look! A fabulous change! A bold statement that says "I live here"!!!! No longer will I just exist in my dwelling. I will thrive and be happy because I will change. Heres what ya do. Look at the subtle wood tones of the fine funiture quality wood blinds that offered today. order a free sample so you can be sure you have a shade that is exactly what you want. Then you go online and you order the size you need to fit every room on the house that is to become your home and castle. You wil have the fun loving guys theres at 6am to create dust and dirt and noise in your space. Your will have the product you ordered arrive quitely via a quality sevice to your door step. You can choose when to install and know the short time required for replacement of your window decor will be rewarding and change your whole families outlook on the space they call home.

Wood Blinds are not the only option. Shades also transform your life with vibrant colors and tones. Custom made products to fit your needs and desires.

The weather is changing. Change your life as well. Smile be happy. If you don't like the view outside. Tilt a wand or pull a cord and retreat into the elegance you have created in your very new updated home space with your brand new custom window fashions.

Real Deal Wood Blinds

Hey Ya'll,

Been a little busy lately. Seeing some countryside visiting some relatives. As Letha and I traveled some of the back roads on mini vacation we came across some of the fun sites that small towns have to offer. Things that make a road trip fun. The cute signs and promotions that are designated to invite the customer to peruse the goods for sale at certain establishments. I love the many ideas and specialty words to draw attention to a business. Just one of my favorites featured here (We have Propane Blue Bell Ice Cream). Humm...Okay we did not try that but hey! Perhaps we should have.

We traveled many small two lane roads and came across many marketing ploys that are sooo funny and smart. (Rayne, La. is apparently the Frog Capitol of the World) according to the signs and freeway paintings.

My point is this. As funny and cute as those signs are. We at the Wood Blinds and Shutter Factory Online have but one concept in mind. We offer a premere real wood window blind for your home. A truely custom made product built to your specification and choice of wonderful wood grains as well as white painted woods. We are not going to attempt to trick or persuade you into quick sale of our product. While advertising is an art and can be so much fun, we'd really prefer the down to earth method of good product for a decent price method of sales.

Fine wood window fashions are our main business, however faux wood blinds and intricate shades are also available. Roman shades and Cellular shades made custom also. Many choices for color and option.

I do highly suggest touring the two lane rustic areas in your area for some great fun and scenic enjoyment. Sputnik BBQ pit was cool.

Sorry, I was unable to get a shot of the big trailer load of used toilets that we followed for twenty miles at neck breakiing speed of 35 miles per hour. Missed also the El Camino with 4 yes four washing machines loaded in the back. Then there was the 40 foot aluminum boat that had a Bus roof to cover the seats.

So many sites sooo little time.

Great times and memories. Get a convertible and get out there. Then get back and order some fabulous window treatments for your home cause despite all the fun to be had out there. There is no place like home after soo fun site seeing.

Letha says Hi!
Have great week! Enjoy the rest now that the kids are back in school and hopefully getting settled in.
God Bless You,

Go Fly a Kite

Hey Ya'll

Life gets so complicated. The never ending work. The kids got school and all their activities. You barely find the time to sit down and order your window blinds. You know you want 2" blinds, but your not sure if they should be white or stained. Or maybe you ordered the samples and you did'nt follow through because you did'nt put your online list together for pricing. Well! Here's my advice. Sit down enter your sizes get your price and save it to the wish list. Now you have a place to come back to for you final determination. And then!

Go fly a kite! Yes, I said it. Go fly a kite! Seriously how long has it been since you flew a kite? March is windy. Best time to pickup a couple of cheap kites (they still sell them) find a friend from elementary school and go fly a kite. It's so easy a child can do it or an old guy and his not so old friend. You'd be amazed what a great time can be had just flying a kite. The memories, relaxation and conversation is so simple and yet so irreplaceble, you don't want to miss out.

After flying your kite you'll be so relaxed, you'll have no problem completing your order for window shades or blinds. Imagine that. Your windows are filled with a beautiful new decor that brings joy to your life and lifts your spirit. Just because you went to fly a kite. Oh, don't forget the power lines on take off and watch out for aircraft, because kites do soar.

God Bless and enjoy March Wind.

Your View Is Important

What do you see when you look through the blinds? Is it green grass or really tall pines? The view is important, it is where you are.

You don't want to view though something bizare.

You'd be amazed, how the sites draw your gaze when looking through blinds, that are'nt all broken and mazed.

Replace the old and bring in the new it will make you feel better and brighten the view.

Real wood 2" blinds are easy to install and not as expensive as might think. Simple measurements are made by you and then an online ordering process allows you to fulfill yet another task without leaving the home. You save gas and time and have peace of mind.

Venetian style wood and faux wood blinds will brighten any view from the inside of the home. Faux wood is less expensive durable replacement for the high quality basswood. Faux wood whites are excellant for Spring time to whiten and brighten.

Got a large window. No problem. Try a 2 on 1 or 3 on1 head rail system. This option allows for one head rail across a wider opening, yet operates 2 and or 3 blinds. In a Roman fold shade or Honeycomb cellular shade the reference is often spliced head rail. The purpose is to allow a lighter weight, which operates more smoothly and also to allow for fitting to certain window pane divisions. Each blind or shade can have it's own tilt lift or rollease, dependant on type and option available.

Spring is near! Start the renovation and be ready for the summer time to come.

God Bless, Have a wonderful week.

Okay, this one bears repeating. Honeycomb cellular shades. Those wonderful 1/2", 3/4" and 3/8 inch fabric wonders that come in so many different colors and styles. The window treatment you will want if trying to reduce cold for this winter. A perfect fix for not so well insulated windows and a fine addition for the energy saving window you may have or have added already. The chart below gives the basic low down on the R rating you can expect with the cellular window covering types.

Feature/Benefit Chart for Honeycomb/Cellular Shades
Product Lines
Product/Feature R-Value
1/2" Single Cell Fabric 3.20
3/8" Double Cell Fabric 4.60
3/4" Single Cell Fabric 3.60
3/4" Single Cell Blackout 5.00

Wood Blinds Stop Hurricane Ike

Hey Folks,

Well my 2" window blinds did not stop Hurricane Ike, but they did allow me to close off the sight of 120 mph winds and the sight of what those winds can do. We in Spring,Texas were fortunate. The loss of many trees and services for a while, yet no major loss of property and the entire 6oo mile wide storm took minimal life. All in all I have to count my blessings and thank God for His Grace and Mercy.

Ike claimed a large portion of the coastal area homes and flooded numerous areas for more than seventy miles. Electricity has been reported out south to north for more than 100 miles. We are pleased to say manufacturing and sales have suffered only a minor set back due to electric power restoration.

I can say, when the storm cleared I surveyed out the 2" wood blinds and thought "no problem". Once the winds calmed and I went to retrieve my 280ZX from it's place in the garage I realized we might have a small problem. Though any problem can be overcome with the right effort.

Point being, we are back in the process of providing great wood blinds, faux wood products and shades. Hurricanes come and go like wildfires, tornadoes and flooding.

Our sincere thanks to the literal thousands of repair crews involved in the cleanup, repair and restoration of the Texas Gulf Coast area. And a very heart felt thank you to the understanding of customers for the slight delay experienced due to this catastrophe.

Window coverings are important for the home, yet in face of true disaster we realize that we are so small in this world and that nothing is more important than the belief in powers that we cannot control. Trust in the one who is in charge of all things.

We are about the business of continuing in business and hope you will visit our web site and see what wonderful products can be purchased to meet your window decor needs.

God Bless You,

Window Treatment Terminology

Hey Again!

Folks, have you noticed that no matter what you want to buy or accumulate there are many names for every item out there. This can be unfortunate and sometimes very good as well.

Take Woven Wood Shades for instance. Are they grass shades, natural grass. Roman shades can be match stick shades. Some Roman shades are woven shades roll up and do not fold. At The Wood Blinds and Shutter Factory Online our Roman shades or Woven Wood shades have a fold up. Eco friendly window treatments can mean good for the environment or good for energy savings. Bamboo can be a woven shade or a flat slat window blind. Not to mention reed shades, natural fiber window designs, organic is another name for window fashions. You can look at real wood, faux wood, fake wood, polymer blinds and then you have the fabrics.

What's in name? Well, many great things are all related to differently from one aspect to another.

As always, we suggest you look at everything available. I mean drapes, blinds, wood, faux, shutters, honeycomb cellular shades, woven wood shades, woven grass shades yada, yada, bla, bla bla........

Once decided upon the perfect window covering for your space, then make your purchase with the knowledge that names can change or simply be refrased dependent on the seller, manufacturer and or product supplier.

Think names don't matter? Call for Susan when your sister's name is Suzanne. If you are younger than her and smaller you will know very soon the importance of a name.

Enjoy the weekend,

Big Foot Sightings Decline Due to Cellular Shades

Did You Hear!

Big Foot is BACK! Yep, up state New York says they've had several sightings of the notorious monster. Gosh, I hope he does not hurt anyone. He never really seems to.

Okay! Just poking fun guys. I know the folks in upstate New York have seen something. Honestly, I cannot say it is not a BIG FOOT! I also will not say my brother has not got BIG FEET.

Here's the real deal. Want to see just the neat part of BIG FOOT? Get the your cellular shades and woven wood shades with the top down option. Yes, a little more expensive but well worth the ability to light only the tops of the room without a full picture window view outside or back at you. Top down can also be ordered with bottom up which allows both normal and extra operating performance.

Yes, were picking fun at upstate New Yorkers, but HEY? we here in Texas still look for hitching post when parking. So, we all got our thing. No we do not have oil wells in the back yard. Sure wished we did!

God Bless, Have the best weekend EVER!

July 4TH Extravaganza!!!!

Hey Ya'll

July forth, Oh so many memories!..........tooo much homemade ice cream, too many orange crush soda pop's. Great barbeque and heat that would cause the sane person to catch the first flight to Iceland just for a hint of a cool breeze.

Independence Day in America. A great celebration that as I always stress, we take for granted. I say this because I myself do take it for granted. We must try and remember the reason for the Holidays. The 4th of July was created in recognition of the great blessing the United States received in the earlier years. Freedom from outside rule. Freedom's to let the people come together and voice ideas.

Love this country!, though I complain way too much like all the rest. I love that I can sell window treatments on the internet without being told I am restricted. Love! that I can walk down the street and have some better sense of safety than most of the people in the rest of the world. Love that I can afford and so can you the blinds and shades that let me see outside and close at night for privacy. Greatly appreciate the economic freedom's that tell me I am as capable as the next guy and can compete with anyone. Greatful for the competitors, because they keep prices some what in line. Only for so long in this country do we get these wonderful gifts.

Do that big cookout, fireworks display, lake weekend. Do the things we are so fortunate to be able to do! But, if your slow cooking Brisket.....BASTE with Italian Salad Dressing!.Becareful! don't let it burn....Remember! Barbeque is slow cooking not GRILLING!!!!!

And oh yeah, check us out for roll ease wood blinds and woven wood shades with easylift controls.

Traveling this weekend? Words to remember from preflight. There may be 50 ways to leave your lover, but only 4 ways out of this airplane.

God Bless You, Be safe and Have Fun!

Brown Grass, Green Blinds

Hey Folks,

Yes, I know the summer is coming really eary and the grass is turning brown in spots, Maybe it's global warming, maybe it is historical.

One thing I can tell you is that our wood blinds in Catus Green will not fade like your lawn and they don't need water that cost....well you know what water cost!

Folks, it is going to be one of those trying summers.Gasoline prices are crazy and everything else follows, but you can still change the look of the old homestead with new wood window blinds. Want a change and maybe some relief from the cost of cooling? Then you should check out the new prices of the cellular shades sometimes called honeycomb cellular shades. These shades will reduce some of that penetrating heat that bears down on your home all day. They are great for letting in light from top or bottom and still keeping the sun beast at bay.

Less, face it. We have all seen the times go up and down, yet we are in a money consuming economy today. I cannot lower gas prices for you , but I can offer a fair priced product to reduce heat and or even just to enlighten the look of the household. Wood blinds are great for changing the tone. Woven wood shades are becoming quite the trend and can be purchased with a blackout liner.

Wish, I could help with the brown spots in the yard, but water is the key and it seems we get too much or not enough.

Jesus, loves you. The yard will survive. Take care of the home and the feeling inside, let the outdoors be the outdoors.

God Bless you all and may God PLEASE Bless this Nation

Don't be a shadow of yourself

You know for years I would awake every moring walk through the house, open the blinds and think WOW! What a great day! Then I would turn and see my shawdow on the wall, thinking...MAN! I gotta loose some weight. Despite reports I did loose weight, but I also changed window coverings. Times change and so do our needs. Letting in the morning sun is great unless you have to leave for work in ten minutes and you leave the blinds open for the rest of the day to heat the home and cause the A/C to run all day.

No Fear, Cellular Shades are here. Replace the current window treament with a cellular shade....stroll through in morning use the top down option to drop that shade a couple inches to get that great morning light and leave it! The rest of the day your palace will get light to a low level, not requiring so much A/C and from the outside it will not appear so closed off, like no one home. Not to mention you can get single cell and double cellular shades which will reduce the filtered light, so like me you will not notice the extra two pounds you might need to loose.

We also have a black out shade that will reduce light even further. You know woven wood roman fold shades will do the same basic thing and are avaialble with a blackout liner.

Regardless of your window covering, I wish you all the most ABSOLUTE BESTEST FATHERS DAY !

God Bless You,

Stay Cool!

Who Let The Dog's Out!!!!!

Or should I say ....Who let the dogs stay In?

Guys and Gals.

I love the pooches much as anyone, but I gotta tell ya. One of our most common calls for blinds and shades failure is due to the familiy pet.

When my son was young we had a great beauty we called Christy. Short for Christmas Surprise. Christy was a young black and white Dalmation pup. One Blue one Black eye. We understood she would never be a show dog but her pup's might. Talk about a great Dog! Oh!!! Christy was balistic....Sooo much the fit lean machine that one will see in the shows. Sooo, much the apple of my son's eye. Yet, Christy, like many was curios, mischievious and just plain O'l wanted to be in the middle of things.

My point being...............Pets can be among the number 1 reason for blind and or shade failure. Oh, they never mean it and we can never really blame them, but !!! When we go away for the weekend or that Great Vacation...they feel sooo alone and even though we have someone come over to feed them and play with them....We'll....it is just not the same. The family pet wants the Family.

Okay, here's the deal. No one can warranty your blinds against pet destruction.

I can offer some thoughts.

Routeless blinds, will allow for the removal of each slat and replacement slat by slat. Still! If the one in question devours the strings...of said blind or shade...well...it's History.

My best advice..........Love um....take um to a friends or to an animal spa for those those short trips.

GEES...........we can't get upset with UM! We just Love Um Too Much!

Yet...we love our window treatments too!

Love and or leave Um...your wood blinds and shades will tell.

They don't mean it....Sooo, should you find your blinds and shades detroyed......we offer replacements. Be sure to get new color samples for fresh a compararison to the old existing color or to the wall color you now have.

It's tough!, but bite the bullet and forgive the family cat or dog. Were here and you can always replace the window fashion, but who can replace the Kid's favorite Pet?

God Bless You, Have The most Wonderful Week.

R.Miller

"April Showers Bring May Flowers"

"April Showers Bring May Flowers" ?

Maybe, but they can also lead to more water on the freeway in May when the rain continues into May. Writers have often used April to indicate the opening because of it's Latin origin "aperire" which means to open. Did you know April begins on the same day of week as July in all years and also January in leap years? Okay, we may not all be longing for those April showers this year, because we know it means the opening to higher summer cooling cost.

Have no fear! Honeycomb or cellular window shades can help you cut those higher cost by reducing the amount of heat coming through the window. Available in single cell and double cell fabrics, both styles have r- factors representing the insulating effect that can work like the insulation in your attic.

Let's face it. Heating is now more expensive because because of cold and cooling more expensive because of heat. We can't win even one season anymore. The car cost more because it saves gas and more if it waste gas. We can only begin to think, cut cost for the long run.

Cellular shades are available in many colors and have great options like easy lift to reduce cords and my favorite (top down bottom up) allowing for light and or view at two angles.

Hope your May flowers are beautiful and April will not bring too much rain.

Happy Holidays!

Every year one my friends says they know Halloween is near when the stores begin advertising Christmas sales. We'll that does seem to be the schedule these days and it really can throw us into a hurried tail spin to prepare for all the Holidays at one time. While not a huge supporter of Halloween, I do believe Thanksgiving is a wonderful Hoilday and opportunity to reflect upon all that the we (especially in the United States) have to be thankful for. As Turkey Day is fast closing we naturally turn thoughts to Christmas. Christmas or Christ Mass as once termed is a wonderful time to remember our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who chose to lay down his life for the sins of the world....a sacrefice for all men so that who ever would believe in Him would have eternal life in the Kingdom of God. Though not born on the December date celebrated Jesus is the reason for the season. As a company we to take this time of year to remind all that the Christmas season is drawing near and ordering should be done in advance to allow time for construction of your custom blinds and or shades in time for delivery before the Christmas Holidays. Production and delivery can take 10 - 15 days for the custom products and of course nation wide delivery is slowed this time of year due to the increased shipping volumes. So, whatever you need...be it wood blinds, faux wood, woven shades or the ever increasing popular cellular shades......Please visit the site and order samples today that you might make an informed purchase in time for the familiy gatherings to come this years end.

A last thought about the Thanksgiving meal.....Turkey Coma....that much anticipated but dreaded feeling to encompass one after hours of the aroma and preparation prior to the maybe twenty minute process of devouring the massive meal. Beware! becareful! pace yourselves and remember the eyes are always bigger than the stomach.

Blessings to you this week. Safe passage and may all enjoy this time of celebration.
