Second Floor Window Ideas

Ever notice how the homes are getting bigger but the yards are getting so much smaller? Now most of us don't really mind the reduced effort a small yard requires, however if you can see into your neighbors backyard you might sometimes wish you were not so intimate. We all love the backyard bar-b-que and enjoying the pool on a warm day and when facing our friends we naturally tell them there like family and we mean it. Reality is we don't always want to see even our family in their boxers skimming the pool or relaxing in the lounger. Have no fear....options are available for just such a situation. Cellular shades and woven wood window treatments are available with a top down feature. This wonderful option allows the shade to be lowered from the top. Now you can enjoy filling your upper room with light without the occassionly view of Bob walking thru the living room to grab some pants from the laundry. Top down can be combined with bottom up to give the standard operation as well. This is a great option for the upstairs bedrooms. Your own privacy could count on it.

Have a great day! and remember, Love your neighbor as yourself.

Cloth Tapes

There seems to be a question in the mind of many about whether or not to orders blinds with cloth tape. Cloth tape is like so many choices a matter of personal taste. For many years tapes on blinds where the norm, some cloth some paper. As trends go tapes have seen a dramatic downfall in popularity over the years, however! Remember that you as the owner are the one who decides what you do and do not like. Your taste are your own and just like fine wine or art, you are the one to please not your neighbors. Cloth tapes are available in many colors choices, they are about 1 and 1 and 1/2 " wide and do sustain the blind so they cannot not be removed without effecting the integrity of the blind. As you give thought to styles and choices in the decorating process, please note some of today's decorators who are often stating that color matching has changed in current times. Gone are the days of similar shades for every situation. Today bold colors are accepted and often enlighten the one who looks at them daily. Different color tapes and even blinds for that matter are no longer frowned upon, as if it matters. Beauty is and always will truly be in the eye of the beholder. Pleasing yourself or impressing others, cloth tape is a classic and will always have a place for some customers.

Most Popular Blinds

Trends are very important to the discerning home owner. One question we get over and over again is, what is everyone ordering today? Well, the answer is still the basic 2" blind. That is right! The most ordered item is still the standard 2 inch blind in the routed construction. Routed being the blind slats with holes for the lifting cord. Now the variation of the 2 inch blind does seem to split somewhat between the wood blind and the faux wood blind. Woods are always the top of the line, premium choice due to the lighter weight which makes for smoother operation and not to mention the stained color choices. Faux wood on the other hand is tougher and is available in flame retardant materials, an issue important depending on the application. Pricing does cause many to choose the faux over the wood, but the trend remains 2 inch blinds thus far.

May 2008 bring prosperity and great blessing to your house hold.
