Welcome Obama

Hi Friends,

You know we have a new President and regardless who anyone voted for I urge all to stand behind the newly appointed leader of our United States.

Mr. President we want to welcome you to the new position as leader and authority of the U.S.A.

God appoints all leaders and authority figures, we are granted the gift here to vote and voice our opinion.

You know the White House blinds could use updating and cellular shades can cut cost as well as those flourescent green bulbs that are going into action. Okay, I'm joking around friends, but not about the cost savings of the honeycomb cellular window shades. Cellular shades really do reduce the cold and heat penetration of your space. Check out the factory spec's and see for yourselves that dollars can be put back into the pocket via smart window treatment.

Besides the cellular shade, woven wood shades can also be purchased with a blackout lining that will reduce heat that we all know is soon to come this summer.

Again, we offer congradulations to the new President Obama and look forward to the forward progress of these new times. Pray for our nation and our new leader.

Blessings to all.

Don't Stop the Mind, Get a Blind!

Hey Ya'll,

A friend recently sent me a photo of Mrs. Scotts Third grade class of which I was part. In recalling those days I remember the ability to see outdoors. Then in frustration I recalled later days in High School where the windows had been eliminated. Some say for expense some say for the purpose reduction in day dreaming and so that the student would pay attention to the instructor. Well, in my eyes the day dreaming is, was and always will be a part of life in class that cannot and maybe should not be closed off. Mrs. Scott certainly had no problem getting the attention of all in her class and we did not feel so closed and locked in as most pupils today.

While I admit I did not go into the blind and shade business due to a bewildered lack of light in the senior year, I will say......LET THE LIGHT IN!!! Not only do we desire light in our lives, but our children do as well. Day dreaming through a 2" window blind is not going reduce a childs life to poverty.

Faux 2" blinds in express whites or even the Royal Trends stained are perfect for reducing a blinding outside light and yet just right to allow some of natures rays to enter and sooth the room . I mention fauxwood blinds for the school atomosphere because faux window decor can take a liitle more punishment than the exclusive wood blind regardless of 2" or 2 1/1" slat size.

Kids...I trying here...I'm on your side. You want and need the light. I want you to have it, but Hey! when Mrs. Scott slaps your hand It IS Time to WAKE UP! You'll know when.

Blessings and Let the LIGHT IN!

Sun Room Window Decor

Sun Rooms!! What a great innovation. The room that lets the whole group enjoy nature yet provides the cool and heat as desired by the human nature we are so adapt to. View the swimming pool or barbeque from a climate controlled outdoor area. Watch the kids playing and having a great time.

Only problem with the Sun room and sometimes called exterior additions is we still often times we desire the privacy. Wood window blinds to the rescue! Blinds and even shades will provide that just right intamacy level that we need and want when spending the day on the sun porch.

Light proned areas need the white touch! White 2"blinds are great to lighten the evening darkness and still allow that perfect sun down atomosphere that allows for great evening entertainment.

Sun room, glass room, lanai with a view or glass managerie, you will appreciate the ability to limit light and views with a blind and or shade from our extensive collection of custom window fashions. Consider the woven wood shades for that tropical, natural look. Live in a cold climate? Then cellular shade with top down option might be the way to go.

Adding a sun room is a fantastic idea! Just remember to allow for the morning and evening time when not all light and sight may be as welcome.

May God Bless You and keep you.

Measurement Tip for Window Trim

Hey ya'll,

Hope the 2009 is kind for you so far.

I had a call this week on an old issue that is deserving of updated mention. This particular customer had measured for inside mount 2" stained wood blinds. The customer measured correctly so to speak and yet neglected to take into consideration the trim work around the window. When saying this, I mean the width was measured top middle and bottom left to right. The height was measured top to bottom left, middle and right. The smallest measurement was used and yet still the blinds did not seem to fit the opening upon arrival. The problem was the customer had paneled walls and at the edge of the window recess there was a trim used to cover the raw edge of the paneling. Now, the measurement was correct and the depth was sufficient for the 2" or even a 2 1/2" blind. However, the small trim work at the edge of the window recess protruded out to a more narrow point than the actual window recess width. This is a very important issue. Please keep in mind the measurement you give must be an open unrestricted opening with nothing being intrusive within that space.

The stained blinds did eventually fit into the opening, but did require some difficult maneuvers that scratched paint and can sometimes require trimming of product at the buyers' level.

The main issue is to keep in mind that the measure width and height must allow for a solid mass of the same width and height to fill the measured space.

Hope this will save some time and future issues with your blind installation.

Thanks and have fun this weekend!

2009 Year of the Wood Blind

Welcome one and all to the New Year 2009.

Our prediction. Economic woes will favor the housing slump and sales will rise. Wood blinds will embellish these times when used to update the home. Even when not intent upon sale of the homestead the real wood blind will give great personal gain to way you see your home.

Need french door blinds? 1" blinds made of real basswood are perfect. 1 inch blinds will not protrude as much as the 2" blind, making them perfect for the outside mount on door surfaces. Yes the smaller one inch wood slats are available in the rich deep stainds like Golden Oak, Mahogany and Cherry. Also these perfect door window fashions can be had in various white shades.

The most desirable window blind fashion, the 2" wood blind still most popular and coming in every color of white to the most beautiful Light Oak and Pecan. Two inch wood window decor is perfect for outside wall or trim mount and really accents a room as an inside mount. Remember the inside mount requires three inches of depth for a flush mount. 2 /12" blinds can also be flush mounted within the 3 inch recess. All wood blinds come with a free sculted valance to cover the sturdy metal head rail. Magnetic attachment system now replaces the older plastic valance clip for wood valances.

Happy New Year 2009! Blessings to all and please join us this new year to celebrate 10 years of online wood blind sales.
